Police searching for missing Stanningley man Ian Kowalczyk have this evening confirmed that they have found a body.
In a statement issued on Twitter, West Yorkshire Police said:
“Although formal identification hasn’t taken place the family of Ian Kowalczyk have been made aware of the development and police are continuing to offer support to the family.”
Officers set up a large cordon around what is believed to be Mr Kowalczyk’s car in Bawn Gardens, Farnley, this afternoon (Sunday, 4 April).
His silver Kia Ceed estate was last picked up passing a CCTV camera in Troydale Lane in Pudsey at 10.11am on Friday, March 26. The 56-year-old had been seen near to his home in Stanningley shortly before 10am that day when CCTV had shown him visiting a local shop.
