Police have carried out an operation to tackle speeding along parts of Broad Lane in Bramley.
The speed checks, held on Friday, follows concerns over road safety by local residents and bosses at community led Bramley Baths.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Several motorists were checked with tickets being issued for mobile phone offences, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and exceeding the speed limit.”
The operation was welcomed by Bramley’s councillors.
Councillor Tom Hinchcliffe (Lab, Bramley & Stanningley) said: “I’m grateful to West Yorkshire Police for taking action following reports of speeding and dangerous driving on Broad Lane and outside Bramley Baths.
“We’re working closely with the police to tackle dangerous driving in our community.”
Excellent. Better than yet another series of speed bumps!
