Pav Singh appointed head of development at Farsley Celtic

By Thomas Ritchie

Farsley Celtic have confirmed the appointment of Pav Singh as the club’s new Head of Development.

He will work closely with Chief Executive Josh Greaves to support with football-related matters across the whole club, offering support to all teams at Farsley Celtic.

Eray Altinoluk will continue in the same role, working closely with Pav Singh as Joint Head of Development.

Singh is no stranger to the club, having started off at Farsley Celtic as a junior, before going on to feature for the first team where he was managed by Martin Haresign, Eugene Lacy, Denis Metcalfe and Alun Jones.

As a player, Pav not only had spells at Farsley, but also at Harrogate Town, Liversedge and Albion Sports, where he has had roles in management and coaching.

Most recently he has worked at Liversedge, where he was a member of the coaching staff that led the Sedge to a league and cup double last season, as they won the NPL Division One East title, as well as the West Riding County Cup.

He stepped away from the dugout this season to take up a role as Head of Coaching in an interim period at Liversedge, which saw him support the first team and develop the infrastructure around the U23s and U19s so that he can also concentrate on his roles at the FA and the Leeds United Academy.

He currently works full-time for the Football Association as a Regional Coach Developer for the North East and Yorkshire. His role involves coaching coaches through coach development programmes, in-service events and coaching clinics, whilst also delivering on the qualifications pathway up to UEFA A licence.

Earlier this year, he was part of the England C team camp working alongside Paul Fairclough and Anwar Uddin as the non-league representative side faced Wales.

On his decision to join the Celts, Singh said: “Josh Greaves and Ian Cotton were brilliant and were clear in the areas I can support the whole club to move forward and where I can make a difference.

“I have an opportunity to reconnect with individuals at the club and already have excellent relationships with First Team Goalkeeping Coach Tom Morgan and Assistant Manager Steve Thornber.”

“I just love adding value, leading and being part of a team to drive ambitious projects forward.

“Farsley is an exciting project and Josh has outlined a clear vision and purpose for what I can do and where they want to be.

“It’s exciting to be part of the new phase and I am here to drive the vision forward.”

Chief Executive Josh Greaves added: “When it comes to mentoring coaches in grassroots, semi-pro and professional football, Pav has a wealth of experience that can only bring benefits to the football club.

“With the quality that Pav brings to Farsley, we are in good hands and look forward to working with him on the future of Farsley Celtic.”
