Words: Emily Carlill
Christmas is coming and Kirkstall Valley Development Trust (KVDT) will be spreading more kindness and goodwill throughout Kirkstall and Burley – this time on a plate in the form of turkey (or veggie alternative), spuds and sprouts!
Last year KVDT delivered hundreds of Christmas lunches to elderly people in Kirkstall.
This year – together with partners CEG Kirkstall Forge, Hawksworth Older People’s Support Services (HOPS), Hawksworth Wood, Abbeydales & Vesper areas (HAVA), St Mary’s Church and the Hookers and Clickers group – volunteers want to do the same.
Volunteers will be delivering lunches on Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th December. If you would like to receive or know an elderly person living in Kirkstall or Burley who would appreciate a Kirkstall Christmas lunch, please submit your nomination!
How to nominate: Submit your nomination to christmas.dinner@kvdt.org.uk stating the name, address and any dietary requirements of your nominee by Friday, 3 December 2021.
Can you help? KVDT is seeking volunteers to help support this activity with food preparation and delivery. If you would like to get involved, please contact Elizabeth Hayes, KVDT volunteer co-ordinator, at elizabeth.hayes@kvdt.org.uk.
