Representatives from Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal will help open the new B&M Pudsey store in Owlcotes Shopping Centre later this week.
B&M staff were asked to nominate a local charity that deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the colleagues from Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal, who will be taking centre stage as they officially unveil the new B&M store on Thursday alongside Leeds Lord Mayor, Councillor Jane Dowson.
The hospital relies on donations to help provide a variety of facilities designed to ease the trauma often experienced by children when visiting and being treated at Leeds Children’s Hospital.
The store manager, Geoff Skelton, said:
“The team from Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
The first floor of the former M&S store at Owlcotes has undergone an internal and external refurbishment programme and created 55 jobs for local people.
