Building work on new council housing in Bramley has been given the go ahead.
Leeds City Council has awarded a design and build contract for the construction of 24 new council homes at Broadlea Street, Bramley, to Kier Construction Ltd.
Keir is the fourth-largest UK construction contractor behind Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Laing O’Rourke.
The cost of the work will be £3,942,764.
A report considered by council officers says the contract will start on 18th July 2016, with a site access date of 8th August 2016. Work is expected to be complete on 18 September 2017.
Broadlea Street is one of a number of sites being developed under the Council Housing Growth Programme which was approved at Executive Board on 9th January and 17th July 2013.
