Seven new public bins have been funded across Bramley, Stanningley and Rodley.
With Leeds City Council installing 1,000 new litter bins across the city, councillors have chosen an initial seven locations where residents highlighted litter problems, as well as streets where there is a lack of public bins.
The first seven in Bramley, Stanningley and Rodley have been placed at:
- Westover View
- Leeds and Bradford Road, near Summerfield Walk
- Whitecote Hill
- Stanningley Road, opposite Elder Road
- Stanningley Town Street, near Arthur Street
- Norwood Crescent
- Swinnow Lane, on the corner of Vermont Street.
Some of these litter bins also act as a measure to prevent obstructive pavement parking.
Councillors Kevin Ritchie, Tom Hinchcliffe and Adele Rae (Lab, Bramley & Stanningley) are looking for suggestions to place further new bins across those areas.
In a statement, they said: “We’re always looking for ways to keep our streets clean in Bramley, Stanningley and Rodley and we’re very grateful to our local volunteers such as the Bramley Wombles group who help with this.
“We hope these new bins help to keep Bramley, Stanningley and Rodley safe, clean and tidy places to live. Please drop us an email if you have any ideas for where additional bins should be placed.”
E-mail Tom.Hinchcliffe@leeds.gov.uk with proposed locations.
