Plans to convert a shop at Stanningley Bottom into a bar have been approved by Leeds City Council.
Applicant Daniel Dove aims to convert Pontito Interiors into a bar. The furniture shop closed on 14 July last year.
The venue will sit alongside existing retail spaces under the railway arches on Bradford Road, with no significant building works planned for the site.
There had been one objection to the proposals, which included issues with localised flooding, and concerns the new bar could worsen problems with service vehicles parking illegally on double yellow lanes.
A planning officer’s report noted: “It is not considered that a bar will have servicing requirements materially different to other retail uses which could lawfully occupy the premises.”
The hours of opening and servicing will be restricted to 7am to 12am in the interests of residential amenity.
Further information regarding the proposal can be found here.
