Farsley Celtic travel to Goole AFC tonight looking to make it two wins from two as they open their 2016/17 Evo-Stik Division 1 North season, writes Thomas Ritchie.
Farsley opened the season on Saturday as they hosted relegated Colwyn Bay at Throstle Nest and they earned an important 1-0 victory to take the three points courtesy of a superb Aiden Savory lob.
This win leaves Farsley eighth in the league on goal difference, but it is very early days and promotion is definitely the target this year.
Goole AFC have been switched to Division 1 North from Division 1 South and opened the season with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Ramsbottom United with ex-Farsley forward Sam Robinson scoring Goole’s solitary goal.
Goole’s player/assistant manager Neil Stevens will also face his old club, as both Yorkshire clubs go head to head at the Victoria Pleasure Ground.
Team News:
Farsley Celtic have no injuries to worry about and can welcome defender James Knowles back to the squad. Goole have no apparent injury concerns.
