Leeds Civic Hall hosted a special event this as the Lord Mayor Councillor Dan Cohen welcomed a civic iftar meal to mark Ramadan.
The event bought together local community leaders, faith representatives, and guests from across the city for an evening of food and celebration.
Guests including the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Professor Adeeba Malik, the Bishop of Kirkstall, Reverend Arun Aroram and the Children’s Mayor Sienna Silver–Farber joined in breaking the fast with dates and water before enjoying a shared meal.

Foster carers from Foster4Leeds were also invited to recognise their support for Muslim children and families.
Councillor Cohen said the civic Iftar had become a meaningful tradition in Leeds, highlighting the city’s diversity and the importance of coming together. It was an
evening full of warmth, connection and community spirit.
