Leeds City Mission in Armley to stock ‘real’ Easter Egg

By Eve Deacey

Calling all chocolate fans! Leeds City Mission in Armley will be stocking The Real Easter Egg this year, offering local residents a chance to enjoy a Fairtrade chocolate treat that also shares the true story of Easter.

A total of 75 Real Easter Eggs will be available, priced at £4.50 each, while stocks last. The eggs are produced by The Meaningful Chocolate Company and include a small booklet explaining the Christian story of Easter alongside the delicious chocolate.

Leeds City Mission hopes the eggs will provide an affordable way for families to celebrate Easter while also reflecting on the meaning behind the season.

This year the eggs also include a free 24-page Easter story-activity book, illustrated by award-winning artist Martina Peluso.

The books feature the story of the first Easter – covering the final week of the life of Jesus and the events of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday – plus a prize competition worth £200.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer The Real Easter Egg in Armley this year,” said Sinclair Martin from Leeds City Mission. “It’s a great way to combine a traditional Easter treat with the message of hope that Easter brings.”
