There is still time to sign up and secure your place at the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k for Age UK, with just a couple of weeks to go until the popular charity fun run.
The event will be taking place on Sunday, 22 October in Leeds city centre, with entries closing at midday on Tuesday, 17 October.
Thousands of runners will be taking part to help support older people most in need, with the money raised from the event going towards Age UK’s national Advice Line and Telephone Friendship Service, as well as local support and friendship services in Yorkshire.
Lydia Curran, Head of Events at Age UK, said: “We’re so excited to be back in Leeds for this year’s Leeds Abbey Dash 10k for Age UK. It’s a brilliant event, the atmosphere on the day is amazing and so welcoming for runners of all abilities, so sign up now to secure your place.
“Thousands of older people are struggling with issues such as the cost of living crisis and feelings of loneliness, and especially with winter and Christmas coming up we know that older people can feel particularly lonely and isolated during this time.
“Last Christmas more than 100,000 older people in Yorkshire and the Humberside said they were expecting to feel lonely, and Age UK’s services can provide a lifeline for those who have no one to turn to. By taking part in the Leeds Abbey Dash you’ll be helping Age UK to continue supporting those that need us most.”
