Motorists are being warned of delays at busy Horsforth Roundabout as work starts to install a Combined Sewer Overflow.
Yorkshire Water has said there will be lane closures on Rawdon Road and Horsforth Roundabout.
Works will start on 20 October 2025 with overnight lane closures from 7.30pm to 6am for five weeks.
A second phase of works is due to commence on 3 November until 28 November, which will require a full-time lane closure on the A65 Rawdon Road on its approach to Horsforth Roundabout.

Why couldn’t this have been done whilst the road upgrades were taking place (as if we haven’t been inconvenienced enough). Also ‘sewer overflow’??. Does this mean it’ll be discharged directly into the river Aire at the bottom of the ring road?
It didn’t take long did it? We’ve had months and months o disruption at this roundabout, then when it eventually got finished there’s been a short period of relief, and now this. Couldn’t Yorkshire water somehow have co-ordinated with the council to incorporate this with the main works? And, of course we’ve got ongoing works at Dawsons Corner, Lawnswood roundabout, thie list goes on. Common sense doesn’t seem to get a look in.
Well this is the highways planning department, educated people who no doubt have been to university, at its finest.We have had to endure years of road improvement schemes ( Rawdon, Horseforth roundabout, Rodley, Armley gyratory, Lawnswood etc, we even have a new cycle lane that no one uses, let’s be honest here have any of these improvements made any difference to peak flow traffic. NO
