Kirkstall Specsavers launches festive toy appeal

A Kirkstall opticians has teamed up with a national charity – and is calling on the community to donate Christmas gifts for children in need of support across the country.

Specsavers Kirkstall, which is locally owned and run, has joined forces with Cash for Kids, a national charity dedicated to giving children and young people across the UK the chance to thrive.

Every year Cash for Kids carries out a national appeal, Mission Christmas, which calls on members of the public to donate gifts at drop off points across the country for children aged up to 18 years.

Jennie Long, ophthalmic director at Specsavers Kirkstall, says: “The entire team, along with friends and family of the store, will be donating what they can to the appeal. We call on members of the community who have the means to give to charity this Christmas, to consider donating to our Mission Christmas appeal.”

Donations can be made at Specsavers Kirkstall up until Monday, 15 December. All gifts appropriate for children aged up to 18 are welcome, and the charity has highlighted a particular demand for those aimed at babies and teenagers, especially boys.

Food, including sweets and chocolate, cannot be accepted.

Specsavers Kirkstall is located at Kirkstall Bridge Shopping Park.
