Kirkstall Road: Police appeal after woman taken to hospital with serious injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman pedestrian was hit by a wagon close to the fire station on Kirkstall Road.

At about 10.15am yesterday (Friday), a Dennis refuse wagon was being driven along Kirkstall Road away from the city centre.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to identify the woman, who suffered serious head injuries and remains in a serious condition in hospital.

The road was closed for several hours.

Any witnesses to the collision, or the movements of the woman or the lorry immediately prior to it, is asked to contact PC 6042 Gibson at the Eastern Roads Policing Unit on 101 or by using the contact options on the West Yorkshire Police website.

Anyone with dash cam or mobile phone footage which can assist the investigation is also asked to get in touch, quoting log reference 438 of 30 October.
