Kirkstall marks its first Christmas Lights switch on

Kirkstall Village Action Group presents its first Kirkstall Festive Lights switch-on, writes Mel Robbins.

The event, on Wednesday, 21st November, will be held in Kirkstall Leisure Centre car park, by the West End House, (no parking here though – centre users only).

Official start is 5pm to 9pm, switch on is at 5.45pm. But Radio Leeds will be broadcasting the tea time show with Gayle Lofthouse live from 3pm.

Food, fair, live music, tombola & Ronnie the Rhino start at around 5.15pm.

Our group has provided the lights in Kirkstall for around 10 years now and we expanded them this year by another eight, thanks to sponsorship for local businesses – West End House, New George, Gallery 41 and Morrisons, with funding also from the Inner West Community Committee and Leeds City Council.

It really was time for an official switch-on event!
