Kirkstall Art Trail is a celebration of art in the local community, with more than 80 local artists and creative organisations taking part this year, writes Amy Thompson.
After a successful first Kirkstall Art Trail in 2015 we have decided to make this year’s event bigger and better.
From 10am to 5pm on Saturday 16 July and Sunday 17 July we will be exhibiting in a variety of weird and wonderful locations across Kirkstall.
Our venues will include artists’ studios, allotments, a boat on the canal, a shopping park and public gardens, we will also be exhibiting at Kirkstall Abbey.
Each venue will provide an opportunity to meet artists, share skills and enjoy art in an informal environment.
Aimed at all ages the trail is free to attend and we will have an exciting array of workshops, activities and demonstrations to inspire you to create your own original artwork to take home. You may even discover a hidden talent!
The art we are exhibiting will be as varied as our venues from painting to textiles, ceramics to jewellery design and so much more! This will be an opportunity to pick up some affordable art as many of the pieces will be for sale over the weekend.
Refreshments will be available at several locations, including a cheeky tipple for the grown-ups!
Full details of activities, refreshments and the exhibitions will be detailed in our Art Trail guide, available at our venues and online at our blog.
