Katie White MP, together with a competition winner and Santa, hit the switch to turn on the Christmas lights in Horsforth.
The event included a celebration on Town Street and The Green.

Horsforth Town Council and the Horsforth Town Team organised a day of music and entertainment culminating in the official switch on of the lights.
Two stages were set up, the main stage and t’other stage, for performances from local choirs, musicians and DJs.
Several food stalls were set up along Town Street. Hoolios, a Mexican food outlet run by Julio Tumalan was one of them.

Market stalls selling clothes and home decor were also a popular draw.

Santa was present in the museum for the kids to talk to.
There were Narnia-themed activities, including a wardrobe which on entry became a room of intrigue.

The Horsforth Sprite, which is watching over Horsforth’s past, present and future, roamed around.

At the event, Cllr Emmie Bromley, a town councillor and also a Leeds City councillor said: “Horsforth is jam packed for this Christmas Light Switch On 2025!
“The Town Team have created a festive market to support independent traders and going further with the road closure to support the top end of Town Street also!
“We’ve introduced t’Other Stage for the brilliant Horsforth Music Centre acts and Playfulanywhere have brought “Neon Narnia” to The Green & The Museum.
“A huge thank you to the Town Council’s assistant clerk Steph White who goes above and beyond for our community behind the scenes at this time of year. I’m so excited to see a sneaky peak of Kezia’s new team work – The Lantern Festival Parade, I look forward to seeing you all there!”

Katie White MP arrived at the event having visited 13 small businesses across the constituency that day during small business Saturday.
Afterwards Ms White said: “Horsforth is so good at having brilliant community events that involve everybody.
“Local businesses, community groups, faith leaders, they bring everyone out and the spirit, it’s the spirit of Christmas isn’t it! It’s joyful, it’s giving, it’s compassionate, it’s thoughtful and even though the rain is coming down, I go away with a heart of joy… I represent the best constituency in the UK.”
