A hypnobirthing practitioner in Horsforth is looking to help build a lifeline community and create connections for isolated parents ahead of the birth of their baby.

Horsforth mum of two Lindsey Ratcliffe will be running a Midwife-led Antenatal and Hypnobirthing Group Course at Truly Scrummy Café on Horsforth Town Street.

She said: “This will be the first of its kind in the area, offering local families a unique opportunity to prepare for birth and parenthood in a supportive, community-focused setting.

“I am collaborating with four other highly experienced professionals to create a holistic course that supports pregnant women and their partners from bump to baby and beyond. Together, we will provide practical knowledge, emotional support, and evidence-based techniques, helping parents feel empowered and confident as they begin this next chapter of their lives.

“We believe this is more than just a course, it’s about building community, creating connections, and offering families trusted guidance at such an important time. It’s about creating support systems and friendships at a time when mums in articular can feel really lonely.”

Hypnobirthing is a complete antenatal birth preparation course, a specific set of tools and techniques you can start to utilise during your pregnancy, birth and beyond.

At its core it is an aid to alleviate and release any fears, worries or anxiety you may have around labour and birth and encourage new positive thoughts, feelings and emotions.

My Bump and Me classes are designed to offer antenatal education, while equipping parents with the techniques and skills required for a successful hypnobirth.

“Hypnobirthing is becoming more popular over the east 10 years ir so,” Lindsey said. “It helps women get their mindset in a healthy place preparing for birth. There is nothing in this area that is offering that support.”

More details on the course, which runs for three sessions from 8 October (6-9pm) can be found here.
