The Christmas celebrations in Horsforth will start on Town Street on Saturday, 6 December with the official Christmas lights switch on.
At the event there will be two stages where there will be entertainment playing all day. Live music and DJ’s will be on the main stage, on t’Other stage, a few metres away, there will be choirs performing.
Santa will be in his grotto in the museum.
On The Green there will be Narnia-themed activities. A walkabout circus will be popping up here and there throughout the day. There will also be a lantern parade.
The day will culminate in a countdown to the actual switch on of the lights followed by the Heart of Horsforth Awards.
The event is organised by the Horsforth Town Council and the Horsforth Town Team.
Dave Brosnan, chair of the Christmas event working group, said: “Horsforth Town Council and Horsforth Town Team are thrilled to be bringing the full Christmas Light Switch-On and Market back to Horsforth this year.
“Despite last year’s weather forcing us to change plans, the community spirit shone through.
“This year, we’re excited to celebrate properly together with music, food stalls, and of course, the big countdown to the lights.”
Last year had been meticulously planned for months and when the date arrived the weather was so bad that the whole arrangement had been changed.
