Work to carry out essential maintenance on a Bramley bridge is to be carried out from this weekend – and could cause traffic delays.
The Henconner Lane Bridge in Bramley will have work carried out to replace expansion joints.
The work will take place from 7am to 6pm each day on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 June.
On Saturday a full closure of the southbound carriageway will be in place during these hours where Henconner Lane crosses the Stanningley Bypass.
The following day the northbound carriageway will be closed. On both days a signed diversion route will be in place, with access to local businesses maintainted throughout.
A council spokesperson said:
“West Yorkshire Combined Authority/Metro, taxi companies and key stakeholders have been made aware of this work taking place. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption while it is being carried out.”
The works are expected to be completed by 6pm each day, but the closure order can remain in place to allow the contractor to work later should it be needed.
