Council planners have approved plans to transform a shop into a veterinary surgery in Pudsey.
Applicant Emma Lee, from Home Comforts Mobile Vets, successfully applied for the new surgery at the suite currently occupied by Northern Mobility, a supplier of disabled and mobility equipment.
Ms Lee will operate on an appointment-only basis from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
A planning statement accompanying the application said: “Changing use to a surgery site for my mobile business is likely to result in lower overall demands on the parking spaces, and while access will be condensed into specific time periods, it is still on an appointment-only basis so only one client will be present at any one time.
“We are not open evenings or weekends so there will be no disruption or noise outside of the working day. We currently occupy 18 Greenside, around the corner, which is in a far more residential block and have not had any problems. The business format will be exactly the same, just in a larger working area for us.”
A council planning officer’s report approving the application concluded: “Taking into account all other material planning considerations, it is considered that the proposal complies with the aims and intentions of both national and local planning policy. It is therefore recommended that planning permission be granted.”
