Fundraiser nets cash for Stanningley Park lantern parade

By Carol Hodgson

Despite the rain, a successful coffee morning was held in Stanningley Park on Sunday to help raise funds for Friends of Stanningley Park Lantern Parade.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the event and to those who donated cakes and plants.

The crowdfunding will support lantern-making workshops to be organised during the year and half term holidays, where not for profit organisation Creative Communities Leeds CIC will help everyone make willow lanterns.

The workshops will be completely free and will be open to everyone in our community, of all ages.

If you would like to make a donation or find out more information here.

Sunday’s event was attended by Bramley & Stanningley councillors Adele Rae and Kevin Ritchie.
