Sports car brand Aston Martin’s historic links to Farsley will once again be celebrated at the weekend.
Last-minute touches are being made by organisers for Farsley’s annual Aston Martin Day on Saturday, 17 September 2022.
Assembly will take place in Farsley Celtic car park from 9.30am.
The cars will depart from Farsley Celtic and start to assemble on Newlands at 10.20am. At 10.30am the cars will be directed on to Frances Street and then into Old Road and Farsley Town Street.
The parade will then enter Weavers Yard at Sunny Bank Mills Farsley.
Attendees will be asked to vote for their favourite car and place their choice into a voting box. The winner will be presented with a cake made by Farsley’s The Candied Peel Cake Company.
This event has been brought together by Farsley Business Forum and Aston Martin Owners Club to celebrate the original Aston Martin Newlands Works factory.
The factory was owned by Huddersfield-born David Brown. The iconic Aston Martin DB series – immortalised when a DB5 featured in 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger – take their name from Brown’s initials.
