A recently formed junior football team in West Leeds has kicked off in style.
Farsley Celtic under sevens only began playing at the beginning of the current season but already look the part in a brand new kit, supplied by Manning Stainton as part of its on-going Community Support Programme.
The new team are members of the Garforth and District Junior Football League and already have 13 players registered. They also have a weekly training session at the club’s Throstle Nest ground.
Coach Jack Fairbrother said:
“The boys love their football and are keen to listen and learn. At this age it is all about having fun and getting to grips with the basics of the game.
“They are very lucky to have a new kit, complete with the club badge, and on their behalf I wish to thank Manning Stainton most sincerely for making this possible.”
Lesley Alexander, a sales negotiator at Manning Stainton’s Pudsey branch, said:
“Farsley Celtic is a very well-known club in this part of the world and it is great that they are giving children of such a young age the chance to develop their footballing skills.”
Manning Stainton has donated more than £50,000 to over 50 clubs, groups, schools and other worthwhile organisations in the past 12 months through its Community Support Programme. Other local beneficiaries include Calverley Church of England Primary School, Pudsey Carnival and the Farsley Festival.
