Farsley Celtic will be looking to win back-to-back Vanarama National League North fixtures for the first time this season on Saturday, when they make the short trip to take on Curzon Ashton.
It’s another big game towards the bottom of the division, as a victory would move the Celts within a point of Curzon Ashton, and could see Russ Wilcox’s side move out of the relegation zone.
Whilst Farsley head into the weekend following back-to-back wins, and just two defeats in their last eight, the Nash have won just one of their last eight, a 2-1 victory over fellow strugglers Buxton.
In the two sides’ meeting at the Citadel earlier this season, it was a point apiece following a 1-1 draw. Josh Hancock scored a late penalty to snatch a point for the visitors, but Jacob Gratton could have still won the game for Farsley at the death, seeing his even later spot-kick saved.
Ahead of the fixture, Russ Wilcox said: “We had a great result there last year, and should have won the game here (at home), missed a last-minute penalty.
“It’ll be a tough game, they’re a good outfit, they’ve recruited well, they’ve had a couple of lads from Altrincham who couldn’t go full-time, so they’ve brought extra quality in during the summer.
“So it’ll be a tough game, but there’s no easy game in this league.”
