Farsley Celtic Deaf FC are set to compete in the EDF League Championship Final on Sunday, with the game to be broadcast live on BT Sport.
The Celts will take on St John’s Deaf FC at St George’s Park on Sunday 12 June, with kick-off at 2.40pm.
BT Sport will broadcast six finals in the FA Disability Cup this weekend across their platforms, including live on Facebook, where all supporters can watch for free.
Farsley Celtic’s Head of Deaf Football, Paul Young, said:
“We won the EDF North League Division which qualified us to play in the EDF League Semi-Final, and we beat Barnet Deaf FC in that match to earn our place in the final.
“In the EDF League semi-final, we were 2-0 down at half-time but won the match 3-2. The reaction just after the third goal was electrifying, managers and substitutes leapt on the goalscorer. What a beautiful sight!
“Each player has played a big part in leading us to the final St George’s Park, and they have all been a credit to the club. Hopefully, we can get over the line on Sunday!”
This is Farsley Celtic Deaf FC’s sixth season, having changed from being ‘Leeds Deaf FC’. The side is under Farsley Celtic FC’s umbrella to share resources to safeguard and progress the club’s long-term future.
Supporters can buy tickets for any of the six games here.
