Plans for eight homes on the land of a demolished working men’s club in Farnley have moved a step closer to becoming reality.
Planning permission for the houses was granted by Leeds City Council in October 2015 on the site of the former Farnley Working Mens Club off Butt Lane.
The club had been a target for vandals and arsonists and was demolished following a blaze at the site in August 2015. The site now lies empty.
Now developers Yorkshire Homes Limited has had two key conditions linked to the development discharged by the council. The conditions surround a site investigation to establish the situation regarding historic coal mining issues on the site and proposals over the type of wall and roofing materials to be used on the new houses.
There are 22 conditions which need to be met by the developer, these include issues surrounding drainage, building foundations and access to the site.
Planning permission for the site runs out in October 2018.
