Farnley: Police appeal for witnesses after ‘gunshot’

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was shot at on the Tong estate in Farnley last night. 

Officers were called a 5.55am today (Friday, March 17) to a report of damage to an unoccupied car parked in Tong Way. The damage has been confirmed as being consistent with a gunshot.  

It is believed the incident occurred sometime between 8pm yesterday and 5.55am this morning. 

Detective Chief Inspector Jaz Khan, of Protective Services Crime, said:

“Our officers have been carrying out forensic examinations into this incident and our enquiries remain ongoing.  

“I would appeal for anyone who saw any vehicles of any make or model that they didn’t recognise driving in the area between the times stated, to please get in contact with police.  

“Equally, I would appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to also get in touch, as they may have information valuable to the investigation.” 

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the Protective Services Crime Unit via 101, quoting log number 201 of March 17. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
