Left Bank: Mad World – The Politics of Mental Health

Friday 6th October join us for a very special book event MAD WORLD – THE POLITICS OF MENTAL HEALTH feat Author Micha Frazer-Caroll Actor Ruby Barker and Host Simone Yasmin Writer & Spoken Word artist.
Exploring the history of asylums and psychiatry; the relationship between disability justice, queer liberation and mental health; art and creativity; prisons and abolition; and alternative models of care; Mad World is a radical and hopeful antidote to pathologisation, gatekeeping and the policing of imagination.
Micha will talk to us about her work, the book and some of the themes explored within.
Following the talk, there’ll be a Q&A panel to discuss the politics and impact of mental health hosted by Spoken Word Artist and Artivist Simone Yasmin.
Panelists include Spoken Word Artist and Community Arts Non-Profit founder Denetta Copeland, Actor Ruby Barker and Author Micha Frazer-Carroll.
