Left Bank: LS6 Readers Club with Isabelle & Ella

Our names are Isabelle and Ella and we are so excited to meet you all. We are both Uni students looking to make new friends of ages who share a love of books! Everybody is welcome to join us at the fabulous Left Bank once a month for a natter and a catch up over a coffee or even a glass of wine!  For this month’s meet up we have chosen the book ‘Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow’ by Gabrielle Zevin and a spooky choice of ‘The Shining’ by Stephen King for Halloween.

Sam and Sadie meet in a hospital in 1987. Playing together brings joy, escape, fierce competition – and a special friendship. Then, all too soon, that time is over and they must return to their normal lives.

When the pair spot each other eight years later in a crowded train station the spark is immediate, and together they get to work on what they love – creating virtual worlds to delight, challenge and immerse. Their collaborations make them global superstars but along with success, money and fame come betrayal and tragedy.

This tale of a troubled man hired to care for a remote mountain resort over the winter, his loyal wife, and their uniquely gifted son slowly but steadily unfolds as secrets from the Overlook Hotel’s past are revealed, and the hotel itself attempts to claim the very souls of the Torrance family.

This group is free to join and the Café Bar will be open during the evening for drinks and light snacks.
