Kirkstall Valley Farm: Project Power

It’s all happening at the farm as we work to get the site connected with power in 2026!
This is a huge project being undertaken by our wonderful team of volunteers – what a skilled bunch they are!
So far over 35 volunteers have helped in the past week, we’ve made great progress and we now have the first 50 meter length of electrical ductwork in place and the concrete plinth done for the cabinet (this is all the stuff that’s needed to get cables from the main grid all the way down to the farm – so a lot of digging )
Thank you to everyone who helped achieve things so far. We really can’t do any of this without the community volunteers!
Our next session for ‘Project Power’ is on Tuesday 17th Feb from 10:30am so please come along if you’re able to lend a hand.
You’ll help with the groundwork — things like digging trenches, laying conduit, and moving materials. No electrical experience needed, just enthusiasm and sturdy footwear!
