Public Meeting at Headingley Stadium, Tuesday 25th March 6-7pm
The Kirkstall and Headingley Councillors would like to invite you to the next community meeting to discuss any concerns or issues you may have regarding Headingley Stadium’s impact on our local area. We will also be sending letters to residents in the nearest streets to the Stadium in the Queenswood and Burley areas. We will be joined at the meeting by representatives from both rugby and cricket, who will be available to provide updates and answer questions.
You may also be aware that the Rhinos stadium currently holds a license to hold four live music events over two weekends a year. In the past these have been events such as ‘The Awakening’ which was the launch to the Leeds 2023 year of Culture, and Lesley Garrett performing at ‘Proms on the Pitch’ which marked the end of the completion of the redevelopment of the stadium. Leeds Rhinos have informed us that they would like to discuss with residents the potential to consider an application to vary their Premises License to increase attendance capacity from 19,999 to 26,000 for these events.
This is your chance to engage directly with the detail of what is a very early proposal right now, as well as any other issues affecting our area and working with the Stadium to find practical solutions. We encourage all residents, whether you are a frequent visitor to the Stadium or not, to attend and make your voices heard.
The meeting will be in the Executive Suite – go to the Headingley Pavilion opposite Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office Transfer Windows inside the ground. You can then access the suite by either taking the stairs or by lift to the third floor.
Parking is available in Car Park A (access through Gate B) on St Michael’s Lane. If you require accessible parking please let me know in advance.
Thank you and warm wishes, Cllr Fiona Venner (fiona.venner@leeds.gov.uk)
