Burley: Pages of the Park – Exploring Local History Through Sound with Delilah Sykes

February 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The next round of creative workshops for our Pages of the Park project are coming soon in Feb!
Pages of the Park is a year-long community arts project celebrating creativity, nature, and shared stories in the heart of Burley
Developed in partnership with local artists Nat Hues and Delilah Sykes, this project invites everyone to come together for free, hands-on workshops exploring the magic of Burley Park — from the sounds of its history to the treasures hidden in its everyday landscape.
With Nat Hues, you’ll forage for tiny “treasures” and turn them into beautiful prints, collages, and drawings — building a Community Cabinet of Curiosities that celebrates our park and its people.
With Delilah Sykes, you’ll explore Burley’s past through sound — recording and reimagining the park’s unique atmosphere to create a collaborative sound map of the area.
Each session is friendly, free, and open to everyone — no experience needed. All materials provided!
Workshops take place in Burley Park, with Left Bank Leeds as our creative base (and wet-weather backup!).
We’re also looking for volunteers to help document the project from photographers, artists, graphic designers! — email leah@leftbankleeds.org.uk
if you’d like to get involved.
Winter Workshops:
Community Cabinet of Curiosities with Nat Hues — Monday 23rd Feb (2-4pm)
Exploring Local History Through Sound with Delilah Sykes — Wednesday 18th Feb (2-4pm)
Come along, try something new, and add your page to the story of the park.
This project is funded by the amazing @loveleedsparks who have been busy supporting our local parks and supporting our community in accessing the nature!
