The Leeds Migrant Access Project (commonly referred to as MAP) is launching an 8 week training programme for people from new communities in Leeds (including people seeking sanctuary) to ensure people new to Leeds can get a better understanding of how services in Leeds work. I’m not sure if you are familiar with MAP training? In brief, it is a council led project, that was set up over ten years ago to work with new and emerging communities in Leeds. It works to ensure people in Leeds get an understanding of local services/infrastructure, so that they can navigate the city so to speak (much like a map). The project is delivered through a series of training sessions and provides the opportunity to consult with services. Once certain aspects of the training are completed, attendees become Migrant Community Networkers (MCNs) and many go on to get involved in community projects. The 8 week training programme that will be held in Armley Community Hub.
