Abbey House: Study Afternoon – Sweepiana

A peep up the chimney to examine myths, folklore and prejudices about chimney sweeps, as well harsh realities about the campaign to improve working conditions and against the exploitation of climbing boys. This study day looks at material from the huge collection of Sweepiana amassed by Dr Henry which is now looked after by Leeds Museums. Tea, coffee and cake provided.
