As part of the 2023 Farsley Literature Festival, join us for Crime Night – The Psychologists View with Leona Deakin and Lesley McEvoy, chaired by JM Hall.
Leona Deakin is a registered psychologist and the author of four novels in the acclaimed Dr Augusta Bloom series. The series is a battle of the minds between private detective and psychologist Dr Augusta Bloom; and psychopath Seraphine, one of Augusta’s old clients. Leona draws inspiration from her own experiences as a psychologist having started her career with the West Yorkshire Police and subsequently built a successful freelance consultancy business.
Lesley McEvoy had a career as a Behavioural Analyst, Profiler and Psychotherapist before deciding to concentrate on her writing publishing her successful debut novel “The Murder Mile” in 2019.
This session will be chaired by, our great friend of the shop, JM Hall. Jonathan is an author, playwright and deputy head of a primary school. His plays have been produced in theatres across the UK as well as for radio, the most recent being Trust, starring Julie Hesmondhalgh on BBC Radio 4. His Yorkshire-based crime novels are “A Spoonful of Murder”, and “A Pen Dipped in Poison”.
Ticket prices to our individual Crime Night sessions are £10. If you wish to attend both Crime Night sessions, you can purchase a ticket for just £15. Presented by Truman Books.
