Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies no longer appearing at Leeds Trinity

By Harry Ward

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies will no longer appear at Leeds Trinity University’s Journalism and Media Week due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.

He will be replaced by BBC journalist Ros Atkins, who will lead a session on ‘communicating with clarity and confidence’ on Monday, 10 November from 12pm to 12.45pm.

A statement from the Horsforth-based university said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, we’re sorry to announce that Russell T Davies will no longer be appearing at Journalism and Media Week. Ros Atkins will now lead a session about communicating with clarity and confidence.”

Last week the BBC announced that Russell T Davies would return to write a 2026 Doctor Who Christmas special.

Now in its 17th year, Journalism and Media Week brings together journalists, media professionals and Leeds Trinity alumni for a series of talks, workshops and networking events.
