The date of the 2016 Kirkstall Festival has been revealed – and bookings for stalls are now open.
The festival will take place on Saturday, 9 July, again in the picturesque grounds of the 12th century Kirkstall Abbey.
The Kirkstall event is probably the largest community festival in Leeds run entirely by volunteers. Last year it attracted around 25,000 people.
Events for 2016 include:
- Fairground
- Over 160 stalls
- Battle of the bands
- Tea dance
- Eight performance areas
- Comedy, rock, classical, jazz, folk and light music
- Food and drink
- Procession
- Displays
- Local information
The Festival receives a small proportion of its funding from Council grants, but is mainly self-financing raising money from the stalls, food franchises, fairground and programme sales.
