A Bramley shop owner has thanked kind-hearted members of the community after her shop was targeted by burglars.
Michelle Ribeiro launched a £300 appeal after thieves smashed a door window at Bramley Wholefoods to take hundreds of pounds worth of stock and money from the till, along with a charity collection box meant for Bramley Elderly Action.
The shop is based at Bramley Shopping Centre and Michelle launched an urgent appeal to repair the door which has, at the time of writing, has topped £670.
Michelle said: “Despite our best efforts, we’re not flourishing as a business. The bills are covered, but Dan and I aren’t taking home any pay. It’s been tough, but we’re committed to serving our community.
“Thank you so so much to everybody who has donated and shared our fundraiser! We’re absolutely blown away by the support we’ve received in such a short time!
“The replacement glass for the door is on the way soon, thanks to CeeKay Glazing for their prompt response and action. It’s really warms our hearts to see our friends in the community coming together to help us we cant thank you enough.”
Michelle said she launched the appeal as the insurance excess was as high as the cost to replace the glass. Any further donations will go towards replenishing stolen stock and to Bramley Elderly Action to help cover losses from the stolen charity collection box.
