Horsforth residents are invited to have their say on the new name for the buildings at The Green, which are currently being transformed into a new community space.
Work began on the buildings at 3 and 5 The Green – which house Horsforth Museum, The Stables town council offices and an adjacent building – in July this year.
Horsforth Town Council is offering residents a choice of three names for the new building, which will provide a community centre for local events and community groups.
The three names being considered are Horsforth Community Centre, 3 The Green Community Centre and The Horsforth Green Centre.
In summer this year the council launched a community consultation asking residents if they supported a small increase to the local precept over the next two years to cover payments for a £200,000 public works loan which, alongside funding from the city councillors and the museum would ensure completion of phases 1 and 2 of the renovations.
181 votes were received with the majority in favour of the loan and the increase in the cost through the local precept. The loan has now been secured.

Phase one of the work on the buildings, which the town council began the process of leasing and developing in 2018, is complete with phase two starting in the new year, subject to legal paperwork, and opening scheduled for April 2026.
You can vote for the name you’d like to see for the newly repurposed buildings here.
You can also vote by posting your choice of name to the town council offices at The Stables, 2 Church Road, Horsforth, LS18 5LG or by emailing admin@horsforthtowncouncil.gov.uk.
Voting closes on December 31.
