Kirkstall Avenue Carol Singers have become something of an annual institution over the past few years, singing around local streets and other venues (pubs included – remember them?) and bringing a taste of traditional Victorian Christmas to the area.
And the evening’s activities regularly raised in excess of £180 for local charities.
So the group was determined that this year, despite restrictions, the tradition should continue – albeit in a socially distanced form: this year more than ever, they felt, would benefit from some extra Christmas cheer!
And so, on Sunday 20th from 5pm they will be performing in the streets around Kirkstall Avenue, observing social distancing but bringing the warmth of community Christmas spirit at a time when it seems most needed.
This year’s charity will be Armley Helping Hands, who do so much to give comfort and sustenance to those in real need. Please enjoy the music and try to give as generously as you can to this deserving cause.
And let’s hope it doesn’t rain…
