Candidates standing in the local elections on Thursday, 2 May 2024 have been announced by Leeds City Council today.
Members of the public will be invited to vote for one candidate in the ward where they live.
Voters are reminded that those wishing to vote in these elections in person at a polling station on election day will need to show a valid form of voter ID. Guidance on what forms of identification will be accepted and how to apply for a new free Voter ID can be seen at Voter photo ID (leeds.gov.uk).
Below is a list of candidates for the six electoral wards in the West Leeds Dispatch circulation area: Armley, Bramley & Stanningley, Calverley & Farsley, Farnley & Wortley, Kirkstall and Pudsey.
WLD will be contacting each candidate individually to provide a more detailed candidate statement and photo which we will publish ahead of the election.
People can also vote for candidates standing to become Mayor of West Yorkshire. These can be seen at West Yorkshire Combined Authority Mayoral election (leeds.gov.uk). Elections for these roles also take place on Thursday, 2 May.
