Leeds Sports Awards are set to recognise sporting talent across Leeds – including Georgia Taylor-Brown, from Calverley.
Olympic triathlete Georgia has been announced as one of the 51 finalists for the 20th annual Leeds Sports Awards on 17 March 2023 at 5.30pm in the New Dock Hall, Leeds.
An Olympic silver medalist, Georgia won a bronze medal in 2018 and 2019 World Triathlon series. She is named in the ‘sportswoman’ category.
Among the finalists are numerous teams and people who have been chosen for the first time. Nominees include; Tom Pidcock MBE, Jack Laugher MBE and Hannah Cockroft OBE.
The awards will be given out to celebrate the sporting achievement of sporting talents and
community athletes of all ages and levels.
The Leeds Sports Awards by Sport Leeds with support from Trinity University, Leeds Sixth
Form College and the University of Leeds and partnership from Leeds City Council and Leeds Beckett University.
Peter Smith, the chair of Sport Leeds, said: “The awards have grown from a small “invite
only” ceremony to one of the highlights of the Leeds Sporting calendar with an
attendance in excess of 600 expected for this year’s event. We look forward to
celebrating the sporting successes and commitment of all those involved in sport
across the city.”
Three levels of tickets are currently been advertised by the Leeds Ticket Hub via their
website.
