Motorists are being warned road resurfacing works will take place on a busy street in Burley over the next five days.
Work will start on Monday, 16 March to renew the road surface of The Village Street between Burley Road and number 15.
The work will be carried out between 9.30am and 3pm and is expected to be completed by the end of the week – Friday, 20 March.
People living close to The Village Street will already have been informed of the work, but local councillors are warning drivers who use The Village Street between Burley Road and the Lumley and Beechwood streets, to consider alternative routes.
Councillors Hannah Bithell, Andy Rontree and Fiona Venner (Lab, Kirkstall) said on social media: “People in the neighbourhood have contacted us about this stretch of road, and we have been lobbying for a while for it to be resurfaced, so it’s great news that this is going ahead.
“We’re confident that the short-term inconvenience of the road being closed for a few days will be worth it in the long run.”
On Wednesday, 18 March there will be two-way signals on Burley Road to allow reinstatement work to take place on the traffic islands.
