Bramley: Man arrested over attempted child abduction

A man has been arrested by police investigating an attempted child abduction in West Leeds.

The man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of attempted kidnap in relation to an incident on Friday morning involving an 11-year-old girl in a ginnel that runs between Rossefield Avenue, Rossefield Place and McLaren Field in Bramley.

A statement released by police today says the man remains in custody and enquiries by officers from Leeds District Safeguarding Unit are ongoing.


Stanningley Park rape arrest

In an unrelated incident, police have also confirmed a man has been arrested today in connection with a rape in Stanningley Park on Saturday.

Officers confirmed they were called to Stanningley Park in Pudsey at about 8am after receiving a report of a woman in distress. The victim is now being supported by specialists.
