Bramley Grows is a small group of people who got together as they share a love of growing fruit and veg, writes Julie Botham.
We look at ideas for growing and sharing food in Bramley and a chance to have a go at growing for beginners and seasoned growers.
To share a bounty with those around us via a box accessible in playgroups and nurseries – and anyone can produce the extra fresh stuff!
If you know a private company with a bit of spare land, only big enough to grow a few things, then let us know.
There are trees around us that left with lots of usable fruit on. Let’s look around us.
We have four ‘pay as you feel events’ a year. Our next one is a community cooking day on Sunday, 30 July, at Bramley Lawn from 12.30pm until 5pm. There will be a chance to make fresh sauces, soups and learn to make bread.
If you have any of these skills it would be great if you could come along and share them. A great day to have some good company and learn new things!
If you would like to join us for apple day on 15 October you can come along and press your own apple juice, bake some apple cakes and make apple and cheese bread, 12.30-5pm at Bramley Lawn.
Our final event of the year is Christmas wreath-making workshops on Sunday 3rd December from 12.30 until 4.30pm at Branley Lawn.
