Are you a baker? A grower of fruit or veg or a pickler/jam maker? Or perhaps you’re a budding photographer? Then you might want to enter the Bramley Challenge, which celebrates people’s home-made talents and skills.
This year, organisers Bramley Elderly Action (BEA) have introduced an under 60s category for the competition – in addition to the over 60s category – meaning anyone can now take part in the challenge.
To take part, simply drop the guys at BEA a line to tell them which category you’d like to enter and bring it to Bramley Lawn on Saturday, 3 October at 10am, where it will be exhibited for the public to enjoy and judges will ruminate and cogitate before awarding some medals.
It’s 50p to enter and all proceeds go towards Bramley Elderly Action, which provides opportunities and support for older people, aged 60 and above, in Bramley, Swinnow and parts of Stanningley.
Let the organisers know if you’re interested and they will email you a form.
