Installation of boulders to prevent unauthorised vehicle access and encampments at Bramley Falls Park is expected to begin in the New Year.
WLD reported last month that councillors had approved the security measures at the latest Outer West Community Committee meeting.
The boulders will act as a physical barrier to prevent vehicles from entering pedestrian areas, improving safety for park-goers and reducing the risk of damage to the much-loved public space.
No installation date has been given, but installation will begin next year.
The boulders were financed via community infrastructure levy funding at the request of Councillors Kevin Ritchie, Tom Hinchcliffe and Adele Rae (Labour, Bramley and Stanningley).
In a statement, they said: “Our green spaces are one of the most valuable assets in the community, providing a place for families, dog walkers and visitors to play, exercise and relax.
“Protecting these spaces from damage is essential and the new boulders will do this whilst maintaining the beauty of this well-loved park.”
The Outer West Community Committee is made up of 12 councillors from four wards: Bramley & Stanningley, Calverley & Farsley, Farnley & Wortley and Pudsey. It features seven Labour, three Conservative, one Green and one Reform councillor, along with community representatives.
