Art and photography project hits high rises in New Wortley

People living in high rise blocks and surrounding houses in New Wortley are being invited to learn new art and photography skills.

The Highrise Project is running the relaxed sessions at New Wortley Community Centre in early April.

Event: New Wortley Community Centre.

New Wortley volunteer co-ordinator Victoria Kortekaas, from the Highrise Project, said:

“The idea of the project is to explore the idea of community throughout the Pandemic and living in and around social housing through a series of art workshops,  with an aim to creating a publication or public art work through discussion, dialogue and co-production in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment. No experience necessary and all are welcome.

“We are hoping to run the session in the centre ( rules and regulations permitting) in a Covid-safe setting.”
